The laid out gardens and these amazing meadows are so beautiful!
And the walled border, which was planted up 10 years ago - wow!
The sun shone for much of the day, after a grey wet start which would have upset our open-top bus ride!
My lovely buddies - good luck in Switzerland Sarah! |
Thank goodness for the sunshine as it makes for much more colourful photos!
So, we had a great day with lunch at The Vaults and later a cream tea in the oldest coffee house in Britain, The Grand Hotel.
Such a beautiful city |
It was a fab send-off for Sarah who's moving to Switzerland. Today's title song is for her by her favourite, Roddy Frame.
A lovely spot. No doubt holidays in Switzerland are on the cards.
ReplyDeleteHmm perhaps..
ReplyDeleteWe had plans to go to Oxford a few weeks ago, but it did not happen - it is on our list to visit as I have never been and your photographs have reaffirmed that I indeed want to visit it. What a way to visit it with good friends and a farewell.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! You must visit - it has such a great atmosphere, especially if it's sunny
DeleteI love Oxford, and I visit the botanic gardens every time I'm there. The last time it was winter, but the greenhouses are still wonderful even then. Otherwise Oxford also has a lot to offer with its architecture and good pubs and restaurants.
ReplyDeleteI was born there, but don't visit as often as I mean to. This was my first (and definitely not last) visit to the Botanic Garden
